Overlooking the sea on the edge of Brindisi, the Best Western Hotel Nettuno, Brindisi, Italy, takes in a full sweep of the city and its twin harbours, an easy spot between the port, the airport and the centre. Offering 70 carefully furnished rooms, a well-regarded restaurant and ample monitored parking suit both business and a coastal break, and the airport and port lie close by.
The seafront setting puts the water right at the door.
A panoramic terrace takes in the busy harbour and the passing ships. Brindisi has welcomed travellers since Roman times as the end of the Appian Way, its great marble column still marking the spot above the harbour, the beaches of the Adriatic coast stretch north toward Ostuni, while the sea caves, beaches and historic towns of the Salento unfold to the south.
The Baroque city of Lecce, often called the Florence of the South, lies a short drive inland.
Ferries set out across the Adriatic toward Greece.
