Between Chartres and Versailles, the Best Western Amarys Hotel & Spa, Rambouillet, France, offers a setting as suited to leisure as to business, close to the Chevreuse Valley and the Clairefontaine national football centre, with free parking and the Rambouillet station a few minutes away. The rooms come with a coffee machine, and a spa brings a lagoon-shaped pool with a waterfall and whirlpool, a sauna, a hammam, a Nordic shower, and a relaxation area, with the chef's home-cooked dishes served through the day.
The wooded setting makes a calm, green base southwest of Paris. Rambouillet is known for its château, long a presidential summer residence, set in a great park beside a vast royal hunting forest laced with walking and cycling trails, with the wooded Chevreuse Valley and its castles close and Paris within easy reach.
The forest begins almost at the door, deep and quiet in every season.
