An eight-room boutique hotel above the little marina of Marina di Equa, the Hotel Le Ancore, BW Signature Collection, Vico Equense, Italy, gives every one of its rooms a private balcony over the sea and Mount Vesuvius. The minimalist rooms and suites, inspired by the sea, come with their own terraces over the gulf, free Wi-Fi and attentive room service.
A buffet breakfast and a sun terrace look out across the water.
The eight rooms feel intimate and personal, room service runs through the day, and a romantic bistro/bar opens to the gulf breeze. The crystal-clear coves of the Sorrento Peninsula lie right below, Sorrento itself, with its lemon groves and cliff-top terraces, sits a short way along the coast, the hill town of Vico Equense climbs just above, and ferries from nearby harbours cross to Capri, Positano and the Amalfi shore.
Vesuvius broods across the blue Bay of Naples beyond.
